In the fall of 2022, I started to experience odd tingling and shooting sensations throughout my body. As a healthy female in my early thirties with no previous medical conditions, and a long-time passion for health and fitness, I was puzzled and worried. What started as a few odd symptoms here and there soon grew to ongoing nerve sensations that couldn’t be ignored. Fast forward eight months and $4,000 in doctor visits and testing, the medical system didn’t help me. In fact, it made me feel like what I was experiencing wasn’t a big deal.
Not any closer to an answer, I was frustrated and emotionally on edge. Something had to be done—it was consuming my every waking thought. Many nights, I would lie in bed wondering if I would wake up the next day. I eventually took my health into my own hands, conducting months of research and trial-and-error experiments in an attempt to heal my symptoms. To this day I don’t have the answer, but for the first time in over a year my symptoms have reduced to nearly zero and I’m hopeful I’ve healed myself.
This experience was a wakeup call for me. I always considered myself healthy—my annual blood panels were consistently normal, I exercised regularly, and my diet primarily consisted of meat, fruit, vegetables, and whole grains. What’s more, I had been using sulfate-free, paraben-free products, and so on, long before the “clean brand” trend. But in my case, all of this wasn’t enough. My experience taught me that what many of us are taught is healthy isn’t always truly healthy. I learned there was more to understand, and I wasn’t doing all the right things. I felt betrayed and I had a strong desire to share this information. I talked myself out of it many times, thinking about the number of health-related blogs out there. However, I decided that if I could help even a handful of individuals, it would make the effort worth it.
I realize there’s a sea of conflicting information when it comes to nutrition and healthy living. My goal is to share the insights I’ve gained throughout my personal journey to health enlightenment—I simply want to filter out the overwhelming noise and share what has personally worked for me. I’m not here to judge or force my opinions on anyone. Above all, I believe in awareness and a reasonable, balanced approach.
I’m not a medical practitioner, and nothing I write should be taken as medical advice. I am, however, a researcher and problem solver at heart. I have a degree in Environmental Engineering and have spent nearly a decade working in technology and management consulting at large firms.
This blog is a work in progress, but I hope you find it a useful resource on your path to better health. Please stay tuned for regular updates.
Thank you for reading. All the best!
